Reality TV and Kids

Considering everything that's gone on with Jon & Kate, the Duggars, and now Balloon Boy...do you think kids should be banned from appearing on Reality TV shows? What would you think about a law that prevented parents from putting children on the air that are under the age of 18 and cannot legally provide consent for themselves?

If you raise your kids well, they can handle a myriad of situations. I don't think there should be any laws dictating whether or not a parent puts a child in a reality-show setting. The government is far too involved in parenting as it is.

A law banning kids from reality TV would be ridiculous. There are laws that make sure those children get compensated for ther time when they get older, they get to experience things most children never would and speaking form a childhood where i never got to go to anything, no vactions, no trips, or disney parks, no swimming in hawaii, no skiing trips nothing what-so-ever for a trip - those kids are lucky and will have great memories to look back on, the divorce memoriees will also be a sore spot for any child, in the spot light or not, and frankly i think Jon and Kate were headed to doom before the show and it is there mentality and immaturity that is making there divorce so difficult not the tv show. As for the Druggars maybe i missed something abotu them, i dotn watch the show, away too much religion for my tastes..but i havnt heard any "bad" stuff with regards to them and balloon boys dad is an idiot - pure and simple - reality tv or not hes an idiot and would be even if reality tv wasnt such a "hit" these days.
