I'm about to be a new mom and can make only a handful of meals, if that many, not including hamburger helper.  Any advice on how to start out or easy, budget friendly recipes that anyone can share is much appreciated!

I get a rotisserie chicken from the super market and remove most of the meat right away. I cut that up and use it in tacos, casseroles, feed it straight to my toddler or put it on a salad. Then I throw the bones and any meat left on it into some chicken broth and simmer for a couple hours with carrots, potatoes, celery, onion, etc. After straining and getting all that extra meat on the bones, I've got some great chicken soup to serve with biscuits or cornbread or something. When I'm in a real jam, I go to allrecipes.com and look up an ingredient that I have in my fridge and see what looks good!
My favorite website for recipes is Food.com. I'm also a fan of Bettycrocker.com, they have a recipe finder where you enter 3 items you have on hand and it gives you recipes you can make from them. I also like to make soups a lot. They are pretty easy, make enough that you can freeze some for later use, and by using a food processor to mince the veggies instead of chopping or dicing them you can usually get even the pickest eaters to eat them. Allrecipes.com is another great resource.
