Hi I'm a new parent, well not really new, I have a 23 yr old son and a 20 yr old daughter and now I am the proud mommy of 5 month old Justin or as I also call him my little peanut. Being 40 and pregnant definately had it's challenges but I wouldn't change it for anything. It's such a blessing to be "mommy" again. I go to school and will be graduating in March of next year with my Bachelors in Criminal Justice. With my little peanut I absolutely have no time to breathe. I get no help from anyone in the house so I feel like I'm doing it alone.

My husband works offshore on a 28-day rotation... home for a month, gone for a month. He's had contract jobs were he's left for a month or so before, but this is permanent and quite an adjustment. My 2 yr old daughter is at the age now were she realizes he's not going to be there when she wakes up in the morning. I feel bad, not being able to explain how long he's going to be gone or why he's not here. We talk on Skype chat every now and then, but I notice she's even sadder after seeing him! To top it off, I'm due with #2 on October 2, so I just don't have the energy to keep her busy an occupied while he's away. All we can do is make it day to day and wait for the month to pass by :-) Not looking forward to the next time he has to leave though, now that she realizes what a trip to the airport really means!

My husband just found out he's deploying to Afghanistan onAugust 30th for 6 months. (He's not in the Army, but works for the Army... so he gets Army orders and must go....)
Any ideas that will help keep him and our 7 month old daughter close even though he's going to be on the other side of the world?
